I've been buying EC3 mold candles for 2 years as it appeared to be cheaper. I have used other citrisafe products and all work just as well as EC3 for my recovery in mold illness. I was really surprised when the citrisafe candle came in bc its quite a bit bigger than the EC3 candles therefore saves me just a little bit of money. My biggest complaint about the EC3 candles was they go quick and for the price, makes one cringe. Toxic mold recovery gets soooo expensive but every little bit helps. In regards to if it works, yes it works just as good as EC3. If you look at the active ingredients in both products, they are identical. I'm incredibly sensitive to mold from toxic mold exposure plus also have a mold allergy. my first mycotoxin test shows I had all the toxic molds in my body. Yeah.Keeping mycotoxins down in my environment is a must especially during recovery. I feel soooo much better after I burn these candles for an hour. The air gets lighter and not as dense. My mast cells calm, I have MCAS from the dumb mold. Money had got really tight bc of the treatment from mold and so I didn't purchase the EC3 candles for quite a few months. I forgot how much of a diff they make and I really don't want to go without them. And yes, I have good air purifiers in every room but the mold candles are the cherry on top.I've seen some reviews saying the candles don't work or waste of money. I think this may be a misunderstanding how they work so let me try to help clear things up. These candles will NOT kill mold. They neutralize mycotoxins. They are NOT a replacement for remidiation. They work much better if you clean prior to burning. Think of it like a mycotoxin sanitation. You don't sanirize a glass or dish before as replacement for soap. You need to clean the dish or glass and then your stearlize it. Same with the candles. If you have active growing mold, it can semi help but it's not going to kill the mold. You still need to address the problem to begin with and then clean up your area afterwards. If you just have normal every day mycotoxins floating in the air, you need to clean your home which includes dusting (mycotoxins hide in dust) and THEN you burn the candle. We use fly lady cleaning schedule so each week, we clean the zone and then burn the candle. If I feel an area where air feels dense, I burn the candle. If the candle isn't working, you probably have active growing mold somewhere. Being sooo incredibly sensitive, I can seriously react to mold growing under a trash bag in a trash can. Times when my mold candle wasn't working or making a diff or even just helping only when I burned it, we have found mold in fridge drain pan, garbage disposal, dehumidifier, trash can, sink drains, etc. Mold illness stinks and small amounts of mold causes issues for us and these candles are a must for us. They are a tool of many things in my arsenal against mold. But like any tool, you have to know how to use it properly.Hope that helps someone. There's alot of misinformation out there when it comes to mold, mold illness and even scammers out there praying on desperate sick people. I've had to learn through MUCH trial and error during my recovery. Thankfully, it does get better. I'm 2 years out of mold and symptoms improved a ton but like I stated above, I had every toxic mold in my body therefore my recovery is pretty long. When your so sensitive to...well...everything, you learn what does and doesn't work. Haha. And for record, I tried making my own mold candles using the exact same ingredients (think my ratios was off), used Essential oils and they didn't work.Great candle. It feels great to be burning a candle without all the usual artificial fragrances and additives.I especially like how long lasting it is !I honestly can't tell if these are effective or not. I'm desperate to try anything so I'm using them until I get to the root of the mold in my home. I am using them because others claim they work for them and it's my hope they help, even if I cannot tell they make a difference.I decided to try these because they were a little cheaper than the EC3 candles. The aluminum container ended up burning somehow so then the air was full of whatever metal byproduct and my automatic air filter was going crazy. There’s sometimes a really strong burning smell in the air From these even when the container isn’t burning, it seems like the wick releases a lot of black smoke into the airI think they definitely serve an important role in mitigating mold spores, but the design of the candle, the wick and the wax composition all could use work. I end up with tons of extra wax and a big metal stud where the wick was every time I burn one. The idea that this issue will be solved by using a foil chimney seems half-cocked and doesn't do a whole lot. All around, Thanks for making these.I read a lot of great reviews from other websites and had hope that this candle would help me breathe easier. I appreciate that there was not a heavy aroma that was put off by this candle but it didn’t really help me breathe any easier.I gave it three stars because I don't know whether is does anything or not but it does burn like a candle and hopefully it keeps the mold count down in the air while burningSeemed to work but burned down too quick lasted only 1 week...I would recommend Safe-T-Air instead (although Safe T Air has a more pronounced odor).
