I bought these lamps because there is a button switch on the cord and I don’t have to get out of bed to reach up underneath the lightbulb to turn it off. The USB outlet was an added bonus, until… I discovered that when you use the button switch on the cord, it also turns off the USB port. Thankfully I bought a used set of these lamps for half price otherwise I would’ve been very disappointed. I’m sure there must be lamps out there that have a corded button switch that doesn’t turn the USB outlets off when it turns the lamp off. I’ve used them in hotels.We bought new bedroom furniture and needed two lamps to put our new nightstands. This was the ticket these table lamps for us are perfect and come with some really cool features.The 2 lamps bedroom have 2 usb ports, regular cords that are safe and really nice flaxen fabric shades that were easy to assemble. The lamp was easy to assemble as well, and they come very well packaged so you can be sure to get them undamaged or even give them for a gift.It is a set of 2 that is important and since we have two night stands, each one could is put on the beside desk of the bedroom. They are a classic art design and the original eco-friendly fabric shade, which is better to decorate the, bedroom and or an office, etc.Again, they were easy to install with clear and easy instructions in the the user manual with each step had been shown. They fit our room these styles is classic an you cannot beat the price. Just a good deal all the way around.I bought these so that I could charge my phone every night, but I have found that the USB only works when the light is on! So unless you want to try to sleep with a light on, you can't charge anything. Sort of stupid how they made them! Otherwise they look nice, but I would not recommend them!I was able to put the lamps together easily without the instructions. (the were in the box) While I’m not a fan of the shades they look good with the lamps and work fine. I set these up on our nightstands and they look great!Butttt the USB charger ports DO NOT work unless the light is left on! I’m not to happy about that bc It was one of the points that sold me on these lamps. They are cute but I will probably return these and find a pair that charges our phones while we sleep. To me the point of putting USB ports on the base of the lamp is to charge items, isn’t it???Disappointed about this useless feature on these nice lamps. Don’t buy them if you intend to plug things in to charge while you sleep. Unless you don’t mind leaving the light on while they charge!!Easy to assemble, but a little lighter weight than I had expected. Nice looking lamps, with on-off switch on the cord. USB charger only works when the light is on... kind of a disappointment. All in all, not bad for the price, but I felt these details would be good to know.It was my fault for not reading all the reviews. I did not realize that the charger on the base of the lamp only works when the lamp is turned on. Therefore this is impractical as a bedroom lamp if you want to charge your phone overnight. We moved the lamps to the living room and they look ok there. The shades look a bit cheap but I guess you can’t expect better quality for the price.Negatives- the lamps don't charge unless they are turned on. So they don't charge my phone while I am sleeping. Also, one of the lamps worked, then quit, and is working again. Maybe a short, not sure. But I like them and think they serve the purpose for the most part.I was surprised to discover I had to put these lamps together. That detail must have been in really small print. It took about a half hour to put the 2 lamps together. I would never order lamps on line again. They look OK but they are not as sturdy as I would like.
