I love this lamp! It's a lot better than I expected it to be. First putting it together was easy. Second it's compact and doesn't take a lot of floor space. Third, the remote control is magnetized so I'm not always losing it. Fourth, though, is the best. It has five preset light settings: morning, reading, computer, feeding baby, and night time. How cool is that?I bought this for my sister (in her 80’s). She was having trouble reading using just her table lamp. This little lamp is unobtrusive & she can bend it to exactly wheee she needs it. It wasn’t expensive & she loves it!Easy to use. Solid build. Allows the crisper white-white light for reading etc and golden light for end of day to assure improved slight. Great light for reading in a chair or use at computer workstation/desk area as well as a background lighting if you turn the lamp facing a wall etc.Magnetic back of the control allows you to stick it to any metal surface that upon which you could stick a magnet. Prevents losing the control.Easy to assemble with no instructions. Everything just screw together with the wire already in the pipe sections. The whole unit is lite with a heavy about 9 inch base. The multi lights are great for difference jobs. Much cheap $$$$ wise than many of the other floor lights on AMAZON. Have had others and they are top heavy with poor connections to the base that break. Would purchase again.When the remote works, this lamp provides good light for reading. However, the remote quit working after 8 months of use. I read on the reviews how to reset the remote by unplugging the lamp, holding the remote on switch for 5 seconds and replugging the lamp. The second time I tried to reset using this technique, it worked.I was happily surprised to see the posts are all nice sturdy metal. I have to agree with other reviewers that the base is inadequate. Not only is it too narrow but any adjustments to the lamp itself seem to unscrew it from the base.I found a way to hold it tight against some furniture to make it usable but buyer beware.I am a dining room table reader and an overhead light doesn't do the job of lighting a book or newspaper. This lamp is perfect: not too intrusive and perfect in its different settings. I love that there is a remote.I love this lamp! It's light with a small footprint and remote controlled.
