This is great for keeping food warm. Because I live at altitude you wouldn't believe how quickly food goes cold. I really like how easy it is to raise and lower it so you can use the different heights for different foods. One of my favorites is for making popcorn for movie night - I can make a enough for everyone all at once and then leave it under the warmer, which keeps it hot/fresh so people can enjoy it as they want (or go back for more).I have had several friends (we all have problems with cold food) comment that this is a great way to solve the problem.If it was a perfect world they would make it were when it was lowered all the way it would slide under a standard 18" height from countertop to upper cabinets - but then you wouldn't be able to raise it as high. Oh well - everything is a trade-off - I still love it and I just had to find another storage place, which is probably good for me as I have a tendency to want too many things on my counter as it is.Still undecided, used it for 4 days so far and had to replace 1 bulb in each unit. (Purchased 2) the bulbs are loose in the sockets (when you screw in the bulbs all the way, they are loose.) I think it is the mounting of the socket to the arm or something. When they worked, they worked very well. when I needed them most they didn't. I had to stop everything at my food booth and go out to buy new bulbs. (Bulbs are not the problem with this unit, although they seem cheap) The problem seems to be with the fixture/socket. May try to handyman fix some of the issues although I shouldn't have to on a brand new product. Overall, I think you may be taking a risk on getting a good one. From the other reviews, this seems like a great product. My experience is quite different after only a few short days. I will update this review as time goes on as to the durability and customer service if I keep having issues. This is a very simple basic device, two light bulbs on a stand, with an on/off switch. For the life of me I can't see why Quality is such a problem here.I bought one of these for our little church cafe, and it works great! Included are two clear food service heat bulbs (they aren't red heat bulbs, they are clear heat bulbs and they are as or more effective as the red). We have used it for about 6-8 hours per week for about 6 months now and just lost a bulb. It is great at keeping food (especially fried food) really hot and crunchy for long periods of time. We have a steam tray, but it tends to make fried foods and bread very soggy. I am purchasing another one because we use and love our first so much.I purchased this for a small family owned restaurant, It really does keep food hot. I was extremely surprised at how hot the bulbs were when we plugged in the unit. We cook a lot of seafood for our customers and in the past we had issues keep it warm and fresh. This heat lamp saved the day many times. Perfect size and does not take up too much room on the serving counter. I'd recommend this warmer. This is my honest opinion that I was not paid for or given a discount.Every year I make a 15lb prime rib for our extended family at x mas. I love this product. It keeps the rib warm, to the point where my hand feels slightly burnt when it's directly under the light. I bought a large bamboo cutting board from Marshalls and placed it right on the stand. It looks very professional and everyone remarks I'm the chef of the family!Used this to keep french fries warm for a picnic..worked great...pan could be closer to the light.Keeps food hot and that is what I got it for... no complaints here. I fry seafood occasionally for a small crowd at home and before I had this warmer keeping things fresh and hot was a challenge. An aluminum roasting pan (throw away type from the grocery store) lined with paper towels in the bottom works very well; it fits perfectly inside the base. I'd recommend this warmer to anyone.Very nice quality and well made. However I did replace the stock thumb screen with nicer ones from Lowes. Saved the original ones for spares.
