I wanted something that I could use to light candles and my gas fireplaces. I have purchased the disposable "grill lighter", but they seem to always run out of gas at the wrong time. I bought a refillable one, but having to go out an purchase butane didn't really solve the initial problem. I saw this lighter and liked the fact that it was electric and rechargeable. It uses an small electric arc between two electrodes to do the lighting, so there is no "open flame". There is an on-off switch and a charging port on the bottom. Unless you are lighting candles a lot, the battery lasts a long time. They come in a variety of colors. The only small thing is that the ignition button is pretty close to the middle of the device, which is perfect for candle lighting, but requires you exercise some care if you are lighting a gas fireplace (gotta watch your hand a bit if the gas fireplace flares up). Overall, I like it a lot and would recommend.I'm a candle snob and a smoker and idk why but I love using this little gadget Def love that when I'm outside I can light my lighter without the wind blowing it out. I waited to review because several reviews said that the lighters quit working after a few weeks to a month. Well it’s been longer than that and mine is still going strong and working perfectly ever time. I am a 3 wick candle fanatic. I was constantly burning my fingers trying to light candles that were low. Problem solved. Will be ordering anotherThe item worked as design and was able to light up a candle wick or paper. However, you have to remove it as soon as you see flame. The heat from the flame melted part of the plastic sleeve that covers the "tip" that produces the sparks. It is still working after partially melted but I do not want to take a chance to using it to light up candles or paper. Maybe lighting incense would be a better use since it does not produce any flame. Design is good and offer options other than butane fueled lighter but may need a more durable material.One of the plastic covers to the prongs came off with the very first use. Doesn't seem to affect usage, still a great little gadgetWorks like shown. My kids got a kick out of this. They didn’t think it would lite my candle but it did. Good purchase.Since I cannot use a butane lighter to save my life and even have issues with matches, this electric candle lighter is exactly what I need. There’s a little switch on the bottom to turn it on, then push upwards on the outer clicky and proceed to light a candle. The charge lasts only six seconds for safety reasons, so repeat pushing up on the clicky for multiple wicks. It is easy and safe to use.So this was neat at first. Held a charge a long time. I've had it a year and a week and it's now completely dead. I probably only used it once every 2 or 3 weeks so I feel like it should have lasted longer but oh well. I'll try a different brand next time. The color was pretty!I thought this was a good idea and it would save me buying the matches all the time as l use a lot of scented candles. I charged it up it worked for a few days never worked again. I threw it away waste of money.Personally, I was not happy with this lighter at all. There are better ones out there that have a better security lock.it only worked on the first day, after which, it no longer worked even if you could recharge it all evening or even two daysNeed to charge everytime you use it … not good for value … I am buying a new one nowL'appareil est de beau style mais la batterie ne tient pas sa charge très longtemps ? Après quelques dizaines d'allumages de chandelles, il faut déjà la recharger ??? J'en essaie une autre marque qui publicise environ 400 allumages ??? On verra bien :)... L'idée de base est génial, mais pas en le rechargeant après quelques utilisations !!!
