I love it. I just wish it would turn off after a certain length of time . . . Like my straightening iron.I gave this coffee warmer as a gift to my mom for Christmas. She didn’t end up being a huge fan of it just because she didn’t really want a coffee warmer apparently, but I ended up using it for a while before I left. It works fine, it’s definitely better to keep drinks warm then to warm them up from cold. I wouldn’t say it kept my coffee/tea piping hot unless there was less than half a cup of liquid left, but it definitely kept it warm-to-hot. Personally, I think that’s kind of a good thing since ideally your coffee should be piping hot when you put it on the warmer to begin with, and if a person is consistently drinking from the mug, it should keep it at about the right temperature. The hot plate does not get hot enough to burn your hand unless you hold your hand on it for 8+ seconds (in which case, that’s your fault). There’s no way to injure yourself by just knocking into it a little bit or touching it while grabbing your cup. The weight thing is great, it turns off when you lift up your cup and stays on as long as there’s a mug on there. The click is audible. If it doesn’t automatically go on when your cup is almost empty or is empty, press down slightly and it will stay on as long as there’s some weight to hold it there. Overall good productI purchased the one that came with the cup. I prefer to use my favorite cup which happens to have a flat bottom. Easy to set up and use. I have found I prefer to put a lid over the cup and it keeps the heat in. The only caution is be careful to remove cup when finished, because it will stay on.Works very well!You Have to Put your cup on the warmer with coffee in it. It heats up, you have to keep checking if it’s stayed warm. You have to make sure you don’t leave it on for an extended amount of time. The warmer is hot to the touch with a full cup of coffee on it. Move it out of reach of small children!!I like this a lot! It’s so nice sitting at my desk, getting lost in my work, and then looking up to find the coffee I’ve forgotten about is staying warm on it’s little platform! Love the idea. Unfortunately, if your cup is anything less than half full, you have to make sure to sit the mug on the platform in a way that engages the mechanism to turn the heat on. Anything less than half will not turn the heat on unless you put it down with a little force. I’ve learned the best way to do it so that I can engage the mechanism til the last sip, but if you weren’t paying attention when you set your mug down, you’d be disappointed ten minutes later when you pick up your lukewarm coffee!It is great.
