I was really concerned with all the bad reviews these have gotten, but I was pleasantly surprised when my battery tealights arrived. All 12 worked right out of the box, there was no battery tab to pull out, they are a orange-yellow flicker, and they look great for what I wanted them for. I wanted a candle-glow for a home showing without the worry of burning the place down. These look great in the glass tile holders sitting on the bar. Obviously you don't see the flicker in the photo, but you can see the color pretty well. I do think they started off more orangey and have faded to more yellow now, which is fine by me. I would buy again if I ran through all 12 of these. Note: I went to a local chain restaurant last night where I always noticed their frosted glass with flickering candle in them (and it's really a battery-operated tealight); the "candle" part of those was about twice as tall as these. These contain one coin battery whereas I believe the restaurant ones would contain 3+ batteries stacked (and probably would last longer?) The 2 I put out have been running at least 24 hours now and are still flickering nicely. Hope that helps!got these tea lights delivered on time and packaged neatly. i haven't used the lights for my event yet, but i took all out and tested- flickers without being fake looking or annoying. the color of the light is as shown in the picture not bright but low and yellow. they are perfect for what i wanted to accomplish so great!. only reason i didnt give these 5 stars was because its a little flimsy but at $7 i didn't expect otherwise.*****Update 1 month later*****After the first order above, i ordered another two dozens- the seller was different so i don't know if this is why i got slightly different lights from the first dozen. the later sets-the candle 'wicks' were taller than the first set- considering that the tea light itself is short the taller wick looked a little ridiculous but nothing to complain about much because this discrepancy wasn't very visible in the holder i placed them in.All the sets purchased were used for about 8 hours in one go. worked perfectly. nice flicker, good effect into the night and not outages with life in them to go!In the end a great deal!:)These were actually for someone else, but I tried one before passing them on. I had seen flicker type bulbs before and hoped these would be similar, but wasn't too happy with this one. However, after turning all of them on, we discovered the one I had tried apparently had a battery problem. After replacing the battery, all was good. Therefore, I'm updating my original review. They are being used in a fireplace screen and look great as the fireplace is not being used and is just a big dark space. The Tealights provide interest and light and look great. The problem had been the use of wax burning candles and the acquisition of an over active kitten that thought it needed to climb and knock over the screen. Not a good mix if the candles are lit. So the perfect solution for safety, as well as a nice effect, was the Tealight Candle. Hope my first opinion didn't cost a sale. The family for whom they were purchased love them and that's the main thing.I have a brick patio, and the short wall of the patio has spaces in-between the bricks. I've struggled forever with my search for good ambiance candles for these spaces. The regular wax tea light candles tend to blow out easily in the slightest of breezes, even if I contain them in votive holders. These battery operated candles are the perfect solution. You can place them as-is, or put them inside glass votive holders. They look realistic enough to give that good, warm, ambiance effect we're all looking for. Now, I"m still a fan of "real" candles, but in my case, where they just blow out too easily, these battery operated candles are a perfect solution. I have not tested them for a long enough time to say how long the batteries will last, but at the cheap price these are sold at, I'm willing to pay a few dollars for the convenience, even if they only last a few months of occasional use. I ordered a case of 12, and they all worked perfectly. Will be ordering a couple more cases.I got these and was actually impressed. The light is pretty dim but, that's expected considering how small they are. There is a light flicker that I love, makes it look like a real flame. This are perfect for putting inside a pumpkin or just having them on the tables. I have a cute little Halloween thing that says "boo", its made of wood and I put a light in front of each letter which was so cute and a great idea. I do recommend these but be aware that they will take awhile to get to you. They took about a month to get to me which is a little long but luckily I ordered them way before I needed them so it's no big deal.i bought these tea lights so i could use them for prayer candles, and they arrived the day before Lent started (thank you)! also they do come in handy when the power goes out due to wind, thunder, and rain storms. these are very easy to keep and you do not have to blow them out when you leave the room. when the flame dies out, you need to is replace it with a CR2302 tea light battery that you can buy anywhere, even here on amazon! too bad they are currently out of stock!Used these on dinner tables at my daughter's barn wedding. They looked so pretty, but I would've preferred them to have had a more white colored flame. The golden colored flame doesn't look real. But, they are still pretty when several are lit in a room. Had a few that wouldn't work when I turned them on. I just took the back off, pulled the little metal thingy out a little more and then they worked perfectly. They were lit for several hours at the wedding and were still going strong when we took them up.We had retirement party and my wife wanted something to brighten up the tables. These set of 12 certainly do that and they do it well for a really cheap price.Cheap they may be to buy but they really llok great and have that added advantage of being a lot safer than tea lights.True if you get up really really close you can tell they are electric but from a distance and when set in a darkened room they do their job really well.#We are really pleased with ours- all the lights worked and the batteries were included.A simple tug of the plastic to let the battery make the connection and they are off with the click of the switch in the base.each one must take about 15 seconds if that to get up and ready. The firm sent and delivered well within a week 5 days actually and the postage was free.True the package would not fit through the letter box so bear that in mind. They well well protected and packaged and arrived in good order with every single one working.12 lights at this price is wonderful value.Recommended.I bought mine through ELECTRO-WORLD. Mine arrived quickly, well packaged, in packs of 12 with batteries. The batteries needed to be put in for them to work but it was an easy to use catch on the bottom of the candle, no need for tools. Each candle had it's own on/off switch. Their size resembled a tea light candle.I bought these to use inside candle bags for an indoor table decoration. They flickered just like a real candle would, gave a beautiful "warm" glow, very easy to use. Was a little concerned as the price was so low and there were some mixed reviews, but all of them worked without any problems. They certainly need to go in something like a holder, jar or bag to look realistic,I would advise potential buyers to read and find good reviews stating which seller they bought from, and use that seller. It appears that not everyone is getting the same products from the different sellers! It would appear that this retailer has these tea lights shipped from different companies. Some are slightly deeper than others and hold the single CR2032 batteries and don't need a screw driver to open. Others less deep and take 3 small batteries. So, I guess that is why people seem to be describing and rating the tea lights differently. I received my order after 15 days and they were shipped from Singapore. They are the smaller ones and take 3 of those tiny little batteries and they open without the need of a screw driver. I initially thought some of them didn't work but it was just because the batteries had been dislodged a bit during shipping. They all work perfectly. Don't know how long they will last but I would say for £3 they are of comparable value to wax tea lights and safer especially if you have children or pets around the house.I run a community art and craft group for people with support needs and earning difficulties. Our current project is to make small ceramic stonehenge-type stone circles and they look great in a darkened room with a nightlight set in the middle, sort of representing the solstices. Real candles are a no no for my students and having seen some battery ones in my local pound shop I checked on line and saw these and decided to give them a try. So glad I did as they are superior by far and a bargain price. They really do look like the real thing with their realistic flicker effect and flame colour. The quality just feels very good all round and the batteries seem to last well. GB.Obviously these aren't any good for providing heat, so you won't be using them in plate warmers or for heating fragrance oils. They do look quite realistic though (from a distance at least, less so close up). Perfect for table decorations where real candles would be an issue, or for placing close to flammable items. As long as you don't get them too wet, would be perfect for placing around a bath for a romantic and relaxing time :-)The tips are soft plastic, so unlikely to break off easily.Batteries tend to last around 4-6 hours, and are cheap and easy to replace.
